TOP101 of 2021 is already the sixteenth TOP of the most valuable companies in Latvia created jointly by Prudentia and Nasdaq Riga.

This year there is a significant surprise: the total value of TOP101 companies has risen from EUR 16.39 billion to EUR 22.54 billion, which is an increase of 37.5% compared to the previous year. In order to be included in the TOP101 list this year, the value of a company had to be EUR 72.88 million, compared to EUR 49.39 million a year earlier or 47.6% higher. Significant increases in the value of companies are mainly related to the situation in the European financial markets, which is similar in the Baltics. For example, the Baltic market index OMX Baltic Benchmark GI since the previous valuation date of TOP101 companies on 30 June 2020 to this year’s TOP101 valuation on 30 June 2021 has grown by 41.63%.

A positive surprise is an increase in the share of the value of local private capital companies in the TOP101 of 2021 compared to the previous year, increasing from 19.8% to 25.4%.

As a result of the increase in the share of value of local private capital companies, the share of both state and foreign capital companies has declined. It is especially gratifying that new local private capital companies which have never appeared in the TOP101 have appeared in the TOP101 this year, for example, Printful Latvia, Karavela, Madara Cosmetics and Zabbix.
